I'm Ben. I am 18 years old and attend St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, where I study mathematics and philosophy. I am also interested in music, computer science, politics, and many other things. On this page I mostly reblog posts I like, but you will find some original material as well. I hope you enjoy it!

The perfect cuddling couch.

That is not a couch. That is a nest, and I want one.

This is made for my life.

I seriously need this.

Congrats to all four states that legalized same sex marraige.

That’s right Washington!

^ Minnesota did not legalize same-sex marriage, but rather struck down a proposed constitutional amendment that would have banned it.

TAMMY BALDWIN, the Senator-Elect from Wisconsin, will become the first openly gay person ever elected to Senate. MAZIE HIRONO, the Senator-Elect from Hawaii, will become the first Asian-American woman in Senate. TAMMY DUCKWORTH, the Representative-Elect for Illinois, will become the first disabled female veteran elected to the House of Reps. (she lost both her legs in the Iraq War).

Tonight is one for the history books.

I will never not reblog this.

One day when this pops up on my dash, I will stop reblogging this. Today is not that day. Neither will any other day be that day.

Update

I am pretty busy here, and don’t have as much time to post on Tumblr regularly. So I thought I would write an update. Things are really good here at St. Olaf. Campus has been stunningly beautiful the past few weeks, but now the leaves have fallen. I woke up this morning to snow falling and it makes me excited for winter. I love my classes, especially linear algebra and philosophy. Next semester I hope to take Great Conversation (essentially classics), modern philosophy, formal logic and discrete math. Orchestra has been great. After a very successful orchestra tour, we are now preparing music for Christmas Fest in about a month. I’ve started playing a 250-year-old English cello, owned by the school, which is super fun. The food is really good, and I haven’t eaten meat in over two months. I don’t miss it. I also have a boyfriend now. We’ve been dating for about a month and a half. His name is Kyle. We spend a lot of time together, mostly in the library, but we’re also getting more familiar with Northfield, the Twin Cities and surrounding area. So things are really good here.
